The doors are currently closed and our group are now in the air, on their way to becoming Kickass Content Creators and getting paid to travel. We have one more departure scheduled for mid 2022 and you can now leave your details if you would like to know more about it when the time comes.

Over 8 informative and fun weeks I will lead you step-by-step as you crush it on Social Media and build a Kickass Travel Content Creator business!
This course will cut years off your journey and have you getting paid to create content sooner than you thought possible.

Included in your itinerary…

  • Lifetime membership in the Ready for Takeoff Facebook Group. The perfect place to find your support team of others working hard to become Kickass Content Creators, plus expert feedback from me, Dana and a few of my Kickass friends.

  • An intensive but commonsense 8-week plan that will have you confidently pitching for those sponsored collabs you can currently only dream of.

Your experienced captain Dana, better known online as Wandering Donut, will show you the shortcuts to success learned over the past 6 years.

This week is about busting doubts, building confidence, and finding your true reason for wanting to become a Travel Content Creator.

During this week we explore:

  • How to define your goals, break them down into mini-goals, and celebrate every victory.
  • Dealing with Impostor Syndrome, taking away its power, and kicking its ass!
  • The methods to crush that crappy fear of failure and really show it who’s in control.
  • Why true success takes patience and perseverance, and why you can’t give up without a real fight.
  • Methods of beating overwhelm and to get shit done by killing procrastination.
Time to move to our second location as we get down and dirty with the two pillars of your future empire.

During this week we explore:

  • What is a niche, what is a personal brand, and why are they so important to your success?
  • How to find the right general niche to get your real search started.
  • Why niching down, down, down is your shortcut to building a name online.
  • The best ways to show up in your new niche for maximum impact.
  • Understanding the difference and similarities between you and your personal brand.
  • Defining your target audience and finding your avatar, that perfect follower.

Just a short step away from last week but now it’s time to show up and show off, as we take that shiny new brand to the market.

During this week we explore:

  • Building your brand personality with mission statements, brand story, and elevator pitches.
  • The reason you have to be consistent with your brand, no matter where you are.
  • How to find the right places to network and why it is the best way to fast-track your journey.
And now for something completely different. Your trip has been pretty intense so far, so how about a quick stopover; a chance to let your hair down a bit and get crazy in front of, and behind the lens?

During this week we explore:

  • The basic camera settings you need to know that will give your photography a boost.
  • What makes the difference between a great shot and a snapshot. (note: brands don’t pay for snapshots)
  • Looking natural on camera, even if you’re uncomfortable being there. It’s about fun and killing limiting beliefs.
  • Moving pictures and what you should be doing to make them interesting.
  • Making sure your photoshoot goes well by using packing lists and shot lists.
This week is about getting to know the locals (figuratively not literally), earning their trust, and becoming great friends.

During this week we explore:

  • Why the only way to become the centre of a great community is through consistency, and being consistently consistent.
  • How your use of captions can encourage people to engage with your content.
  • That not only responding to comments on your content, but having your comments seen on other accounts is a great growth and engagement strategy.
  • The simple but effective method for being found through hashtags. #befound
  • The good, the bad, and the extremely ugly growth strategies used on social media.

There’s a big adventure to look forward to next week but this week we have to focus on making sure we pack all the stuff we need to get through it with our sanity intact.

During this week we explore:

  • How to read your analytics and understand the bits that really matter.
  • Creating a media kit, and media deck, that gets attention and highlights your strengths. Even as a beginner.
  • Why your chance of successfully pitching is way higher if you get seen by the right person, and how to find them.
  • My secret weapon for pitching success – the Social Media Mini-pitch.
This week we leave your comfortable surroundings and head into unexplored terrain as you set out to capture your first successful sponsorship or collab.

During this week we explore:

  • How to define your services and highlight your strengths to make you stand out.
  • What you should be doing to really bring your pitch to life.
  • Understanding your true value, knowing your worth, and setting your rates.
  • When it’s OK to work for free, and when you should just say no thank you.
  • What to do when a brand contacts you, so you don’t let the opportunity slip from your fingers.

All good things must come to an end, and this week will see some of our travel companions leaving the tour. But before you go we need to go over a few things that will make sure your personal journey doesn’t end here.

During this week we explore:

  • Why it is important to take the time to look over contracts and get everything in writing.
  • The legal requirements for disclosing paid content on social media and blogs.
  • How to correctly follow a brief, create all deliverables, and why it’s always a good idea to over-deliver.
  • How to use the “would you like fries with that” method to increase your income.
  • Using case studies to make yourself more memorable and build relationships.
